Delinquente Wine Co., Roko Il Vagabondo 2022

Con-Greg Grigorious's idea for the Delinquente Wine Co. was to take advantage of South Australia's Riverland region's small vineyards planted with Southern Italian varieties. With vines suited to the region’s dry Mediterranean climate, his aim is to make wine that is pure, drinkable and delicious - or as he would put it, “smashable”. Good on ya. Roko Il Vagabondo 2022 is made from 100% Montepulciano and is an uncomplicated red wine that provides flavour and energy in spades. The thick skins provide a lovely, dark purple colour, and while the nose gives a feeling of power and intensity, the palate opens with a lovely, puckering fruit character, like a basket of freshly picked mixed berries. Whether it's enjoyed on its own or paired with pasta, pizza, BBQ, or Salt & Vinegar Pringles – it truly is a wine for all seasons.
